Plymouth Gin

Plymouth makes three types of gin: True Original, Navy Strength, and Sloe Gin. For the redesign of the Navy Strength Gin, we looked at its place in history. It was a tradition in the Royal Navy that all newly commissioned vessels receive a “Plymouth Gin Commissioning kit,” a wooden box containing two bottles of Navy Strength Plymouth gin and glassware. For the redesign, we celebrated this idea by not only recreating the original bottle shape, but also the look and feel of that historical time with special edition wooden barrels and crates. We also represented the traditional botanicals included in the manufacture of gin, by wrapping the True Original bottle with illustrations of the plants that were used.
